Morocco - "Atlas Bike & Trek"
Duration: 14 days

Day 1 - Getting There
Early morning flight: UK airport -Marrakech
Afternoon tour of Marrakech, including visits to the Koutoubia Mosque,
the Majorelle Gardens, the souqs and the spectacular main square, the
Djemma el-Fna.
Overnight hotel in Marrakech
Day 2 - Taking in the beautiful scenery during an acclimatisation trek
in the surrounding area
Transfer to Imlil
Afternoon acclimatisation trek.
Overnight in hostel.
Days 3 - 8 - National Park Trek including an early
morning ascent of Mount Toubkal (4,167m)
6-day circular trek through Toubkal National Park accompanied by guides
and mules, passing through villages and staying in tents. 5-8 hours of
trekking each day. On day 8 there is the opportunity to make an early
morning ascent of Mt Toubkal (4,167m) - the previous 5 days of trekking
will have ensured that the group is fully acclimatised by the time it
ascends Mt. Toubkal.
Day 9 - A rest day and the chance to experience
some incredible local culture and hospitality
A free day in Imlil/Aremd, to shop, explore, go to the Hammam. It may
also be possible to visit the Ait-Chajaa family who live in Aremd. This
is a unique chance to see a traditional Berber household (albeit with
a satellite dish!), to drink mint tea with them or even stay for a meal.
Overnight in hostel.
Day 10-12 - The second expedition phase, cycling
for three days through the beautiful Draa Valley
Day 10 is an early morning transfer by minibuses to the Draa Valley, followed
by:
3-day bike trek through the beautiful Draa Valley, supported by vehicles.
Overnight camping in tents.
Day 13 - A night in Marrakech experiencing one
of the greatest spectacles on planet Earth
Return to Marrakech by minibuses.
Afternoon souvenir shopping in Marrakech.
The trip finishes with a celebratory meal in a restaurant overlooking
the Djemma El-Fna, described as the “greatest spectacle on earth”.
Filled with snake-charmers, acrobats, jugglers, musicians, fire-eaters,
story-tellers and food-stalls this is the vibrant, pulsing heart of Marrakech
– a fitting end to the trip.

Day 14 - Return home with the memories of a spectacular
expedition in an amazing country
Flight home: Marrakech - UK airport.
