VentureCo Team - Jackie Wigglesworth HISTORY/ ACHIEVEMENTS/ TRAVEL

Jackie is half English/ half Venezuelan and has always had a taste for adventure and travel, as well as a desire to be useful (perhaps due to her mum working for the Red Cross.)

After graduating from Exeter Uni and drama school and almost getting the role of Lara Croft in the film Tomb Raider, Jackie decided that life as a real life Lara was the ideal. She has been to every continent, except Antarctica...yet! and over 50 countries, most recently living and working in Tulum, Mexico teaching English and taking people to Mayan temples in the jungles. Jackie has also worked in an orphanage in Nepal and on environmental projects in the Amazon, Ecuador and diving projects in various locations.

A qualified personal trainer and Yoga teacher, Jackie is up for most activities and can help stretch your aching muscles after a long, hard trek!

To date, Jackie has led 'Inca summer Venture' and 'Patagonia Venture' for VentureCo and has her eyes on 'Indo China Venture' and the Book Bus project in Africa.

BEST THING ABOUT BEING A VC LEADER

Seeing the faces of the group on their first sight of a place like Machu Picchu, and of course getting paid to travel, have an adventure and give back to communities and the environment.

FAVOURITE PROJECT

Creating an artesania /weaving workshop in the remote mountain village of Cuncani, Peru. Mixing with the locals in their traditional dress, getting stuck in to the hard work and being a part of their annual festival involving beer drinking and carrot peeling contests!

FAVOURITE TREK

The 9 day Choquequirao trek in Peru, taking in the lesser known, more remote but equally special sister to Machu Picchu (Choquequirao) and ending at Machu Picchu itself. Its an epic, beautiful, challenging but super rewarding trek. Highly recommend it.
