There is poverty and a lack of opportunity in the beach town of Trujillo. The
government builds and equips schools, and provides teachers, but there is
greater demand than they can supply. Just by being there and taking an interest,
you start to be a force for good.
Improve a community’s “tomorrow” by investing in tomorrow’s people, the children
and their learning environment. We bring existing schools up level by level
with the goal that they will all have stone walls, plastered floors, rain-proof
roofs and required furniture.
The Book Bus brings reading, art, music, puppet-play and creative play generally
to rural schools. We stimulate children’s imaginations and encourage them
to associate books with enjoyment and creative thought.
